Biography
 

Cherilynn J Wood was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1974.

She attended the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design where
she studied painting and photography under artists like
Allison Cooke, Michelle Grabner and Leslie Fedorchuk.

She currently lives in Chicago with her husband, Don.

Statement

I paint animals to bring my conscious awareness to the vast kingdom around us. It is not so much about the end result but about spending time with each individual animal and experiencing their own beauty. Painting animals has become my passion and I think that even exloring them my whole life I will not be able to experience but a glimpse into their world.

My paintings take on an illustrative and colorful flair. I choose to paint the animals as individual characters, with personality and distinction. I want these paintings to be positive and inspiring.
